Saturday morning started with a Field Shoot at Great Southern Archers with 5 club members taking part on the newly realigned field course. They shoot at 20, 40, 60 and 80 cm diameter targets set at distances from 15 to 60 metres, with a total of 24 targets in all. Care needs to be taken that sights are adjusted for each different distance. Arbalists (Crossbow shooters) John Clark and Chris Widmark took to the course together while Compound Archers Garry Oster, Greg Mitchell and Todd Wallace formed another group. This was Todd's first shoot at the field course. Everyone had a great time and finished the course in just over two hours.

Several club members took to the target area for a windy afternoon of practice. Judy Howland and AJAD Brayden Johns shot at 30 metres with Brayden shooting extremely well. John Smith and Steve Rooney both put in practice at 60 metres when later on Steve found his arrow rest had partly broken. Miranda Tiong, a Recurve shooter from Whyalla Bowmen also practised at 60 metres before heading off to the field course to complete a round. Paula Songhurst continued to shoot the Crossbow, this time at 30 metres with most of her bolts landing in the gold and red areas of the target. Nigel Songhurst tried out a 20lb recurve bow for the first time with good results.

Indoor: Monday 21st November 2011.

Only eight archers and arbalists from 3 different clubs took part in the indoor shoot last Monday night. Veteren Arbalist, John Clark posted a personal best score on a 25cm target face at 18 metres.
