A busy day was had at Great Southern Archers with the final morning of the Beginner's course and a Working Bee.
The 3 beginners finished off their final day shooting at 20 metres and all scored well. Paula Songhurst using a crossbow and shooting 30 bolts at a 60cm target managed extremely well and finished on a great score. Both Jo Freeman and Nigel Songhurst shooting recurve bows at the larger 122cm target and shooting 60 arrows each ended up with extremely good scores.
A big thank you goes to Greg Mitchell, Garry Oster, Steve Rooney, Todd Wallace, Andrew Friedel, John Clark, Christine Widmark and Allen Stribling for helping with the Working Bee in doing ground clearing work and making new target butts.
Once the beginners had completed the morning shoot and the working bee had finished a BBQ was enjoyed by all.
In the afternoon Todd Wallace and Timothy Oertel took to the target range. Todd was making adjustments to his bow as his arrows were not flying true. Once the problem was rectified, the arrows were flying straight. Tim put in more practice at 30 metres with his arrows all gouping well.
Scores: Paula Songhurst, 235, Nigel Songhurst; 385 and Jo Freeman 355.
