Great Southern Archers Presentation Day

Saturday at Great Southern Archers was the Christmas break up for the Junior Members of the Club. The day started with a BBQ that was enjoyed by Club members, the AJADs and their parents. This was then followed by the presentation of the Club Championship's Certificates. John Clark, our Club President, received 4 certificates being one each for Target, Field, Clout and Indoor Archery. Not to be out done, Sebastian Hogan received 3 Club Championship Certificates and 1 AJAD's certificate. Also, Sebastian who has made the Junior State Team will be off to Armidale, NSW to compete in the Junior Nationals in January.

During the afternoon, several club members took to the target range. Steve Rooney and John Smith shot a Short Canberra (30 arrows at each 50,40 30 metres) and both finished with great results. Nigel Songhurst tried out a 22lb bow for the first time and after some adjustments, grouped his arrows in the centre of the target. Sebastian Hogan put in some practice at 45 and 35 metres while Rylee Jemson shot at 40 metres for the first time and once he had adjusted his sights, his arrows were hitting the gold.

Scores: Steve Rooney 840, John Smith 805.
