Saturday was a busy day at Great Southern Archers. In the morning it was the second week of the Beginner's course with the target set up at 15 metres this time. They were under instruction from Tim Hogan and Karen Winston, learning how to group their arrows then how to adjust their sighting point to further group the arrows closer to the centre of the target.
Also in the morning, Greg Mitchell and Garry Oster from GSA and Kath and Roger Bridges from Cressy Bowmen did a round of the field course where targets are set up from 15 metres to 60 metres.
In the afternoon, the AJADS - junior archers and arbalist and the senior archers come together to shoot at different distances. Both Tim Oertel and Brayden Johns set their target up at 40 metres. After some misses and sight adjustments both were able to hit the target with increasing success. It was good to see Blake and Kyle Friedel back on the shooting line. Blake had good result with his sporting crossbow with 3 '10's in one end while Kyle put in some practice with his Compound bow. Rylee Jemson had some trouble with his peep sight however once this was rectified, his scores increased. Senior members Judy Howland and Todd Wallace both put in practice at 30 metres to help fine tune their sight settings.
Scores of the day: Field; Garry Oster-350, Greg Mitchell-293.
Target; Rylee Jemson-547.
