Saturday at Great Southern Archers, Strathalbyn was great for shooting target and field. It was good to see Judy Howland return to archery for the first time this year and continue to put in practice with her recurve bow. Kyle Friedel came along with his compound bow to shoot at 30 and 40 metres while Blake Friedel took aim with his sporting crossbow at 55 metres.
Saturday at Great Southern Archers, the wind became a factor that everyone had to contend with. As soon as shooting commenced, the wind picked up and remained for the afternoon, buffeting the bows and making it difficult to hold them straight at times.
Fair weather was the scene for the Saturday afternoon shoot at the Great Southern Archers in Strathalbyn.
A busy day was had at Great Southern Archers with the final morning of the Beginner's course and a Working Bee.
The 3 beginners finished off their final day shooting at 20 metres and all scored well. Paula Songhurst using a crossbow and shooting 30 bolts at a 60cm target managed extremely well and finished on a great score. Both Jo Freeman and Nigel Songhurst shooting recurve bows at the larger 122cm target and shooting 60 arrows each ended up with extremely good scores.
Saturday was a busy day at Great Southern Archers. In the morning it was the second week of the Beginner's course with the target set up at 15 metres this time. They were under instruction from Tim Hogan and Karen Winston, learning how to group their arrows then how to adjust their sighting point to further group the arrows closer to the centre of the target.
