Fair weather was the scene for the Saturday afternoon shoot at the Great Southern Archers in Strathalbyn.
John Smith returned to the line after having several weeks off. Club Coach Allen Stribling managed to get a shoot in as well as coaching some of the archers along the line. Steve Rooney tried a different release aid, one that straps around the wrist while shooting his compound bow. Todd Wallace continued to work out his sight settings for his compound bow, shooting at 10 and 20 metres. Judy Howland shot at 30 metres with her Recurve Bow with good success.
Junior club member, Rylee Jemson had a problem with a sticking release aid and he also managed to score 5 gold in one end. If it has been 6 gold he would have won a medal. Also Junior member Brayden Johns who shoots Barebow Compound (no sights), had a couple of misses to begin with then all of his arrows were hitting the target.
Nigel and Paula Songhurst have continued on from the recent Beginner's course with Nigel remaining with the recurve bow and Paula enjoying her time with the target crossbow. Jeremy Stewart joined in the afternoon activities with his sporting crossbow. Once he had adjusted his scope settings, his bolts were hitting the centre of the target. Greg Mitchell, Garry Oster and John Clark continued their work around the field course.
Rylee Jemson was the only archers to score today, shooting a great '670' from 90 arrows.
